Zimbabwe: Mana Pools NP – Nyamatusi Safari Camp

The Nyamatusi Safari Camp is perhaps the most amazing lux safari camp we’ve ever stayed at (including my 12 years of visiting Africa before). Very remote in the heart of the Mana Pools National Park, right on the bank of the Zambezi River, the camp is superb in every possible dimension and it’s fully eco-friendly with solar power and all-natural materials. The central lodge has sweeping views of the Zambezi, and you dine listening to hippos growl or lions roar (or you can have a braai right on the rivers edge literally watching hippo heads pop up and elephants walk by). Just six luxury camps are absolutely incredible, complete with viewing decks, indoor and outdoor showers, and even plunge pools (that elephants may come to drink from). And imagine this – we were the only guests!
