China: Shanghai – Shanghai Tower

Shanghai Tower is the world’s second tallest building at 632m/ 2073ft and 128z stories. However, its observation platform is actually the world highest at 562m (higher then that of Burj Khalifa in Dubai). The building also has the world’s second fastest elevators whisking you up to the top. The structure is truly amazing – a twisting spire of metal and glass that is transparent with a double layer of glass. The building is actually a set of seven cylinders kind of stacked on top of each other, each with its own beautiful atrium. It’s a long 2-hour line to get to the top, but it’s well-worth – the views are insane and the other two supertall skyscrapers of Shanghai WFC and Jin Mao Tower look like tiny toys below – amazing!
