Mexico/Yucatan: Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserve

Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve protects the coastal strip of saline marshlands in the northern Yucatan. The main attraction here are flocks of red flamingo (America Flamingo to be exact). They congregate here in great numbers to feed and reproduce. A boat trip takes you to the key flamingo grounds.
