Antigua: Devil’s Bridge National Park

Devil’s Bridge is located on the far eastern coast of Antigua, exploded to crushing waves and strong winds – there is nothing but Atlantic Ocean east from here all the way to Africa. The limestone coastline is heavily eroded here by the wave action and the Devil’s Bridge is a natural limestone sea arch that formed over several blowholes. You can actually walk over the bridge. The surrounding coast is also stunning – the color of water and panoramas are truly spectacular! The name “Devil’s Bridge” is derived from local folklore, which suggests that slaves once leaped to their deaths from the bridge during the colonial era, preferring to die rather than endure a life of slavery, although there is no proof to the legend.
