Bangladesh: Exploring Dhaka
Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh with 17 million people, is officially the third most densely populated city in the world but I am sure nobody counted all its inhabitants correctly and hence its number one. It’s also the city with the world’s worst and most disorganized traffic with average speed of moving at around 1km per hour. And it’s also the city with the highest amount of trash in the streets, water, roads, and everywhere else. But when it comes to attractions, it’s rather scarce. The points of interest include the monstrosity of the National Assembly building (one of the largest in the world), the Old Dhaka with a waterfront filled with boats small and large, the small but pretty historic Star Mosque, also historic Hindu Dhakeshwari Temple, and the beautiful pink palace of Ahsan Manzil. There is also the Labhan Fort but that’s in a separate post.
