Botswana: Evening Game Drive in Linyanti Preserve

Linyanti is a large protected natural area in the very north of Botswana and the gateway to the famous Okavango Delta. This area was an absolute dry scrubland just 10 years ago when a sudden tectonic plate shift created a slight uplift in the terrain and a permanent water channel called Savuti Channel was created. The wildlife exploded in the area drawn by abundant water and vegetation. The area is inaccessible by road and only a few private lodging concessions exist, offering absolutely unparalleled and crowd-unspoiled nature experience. The first game drive in the evening was fantastic – large herds of elephants crossing the channel, antelopes hiding in high grasses, and the sun setting behind the mopane trees.
