Brazil: Rio de Janeiro – Pao de Azucar aka Sugarloaf Mointain (Revisited)

Pao de Azucar aka Sugarloaf Mountain is an iconic sight of Rio de Janeiro, rising to 396 m (1299 ft) above the harbor in the Guanabara Bay. The mountain is a granite monolith, one of many in the Rio area, and one of most spectacular and perfectly shaped (like an iceacream cone). The cableway takes you to the top of the mountain (in two stretches of suspended action) for some of the best and most panoramic of the entire bay and the famous city of Rio and its spectacular beaches. You also get to see the Christ Statue over at Corcovado and the airplanes landing at the domestic airport right in front of your eyes.
