Brazil: Rio de Janeiro – Rio Carnival ‘23 Champion’s Parade

Exactly one week after the final Rio Carnival competition, there is a final Champions’ Parade in the Sambadrome, where the top six samba schools, the champions and five runners up, parade once again for their fans. There is no judging and no completion anymore, but in every other aspect of it, it’s a true Rio Carnival experience at its most spectacular, loud, colorful, and absolute surreal. Starting at 10pm, each of the schools parades through Sambadrome with insane floats, costumes, and samba dancing. This year, 2023, the top 6 schools were Grande Rio, Mangueir, Beira-Flor, Villa Isabel, Viradpuro, and Imperatriz.
