Bulgaria: Nesebar – St Stephen Church

There are several Byzntine churches in Nesebar, most UNESCO-listed. St Stephen Church is one of the major ones and at one point it served as the cathedral church of Nesebar. The church is relatively small and was built around the 11th century, but the interior is absolutely stunning with the original 16th century frescoes covering absolutely everything. There is also still a wood-carved throne and a pulpit from the same period.
