Burundi: Burundi Food Recap

Being an agricultural society, Burundi offered a lot of fresh produce – sweet and Irish (regular) potatoes, several varieties of avocado, corn, rice, and lots of food. The dishes are a mix of French and African fare – from Lake Tanganyika grilled fish, to leg of goat and various meat brochettes, to traditional curries, ugali, and soups. The local beer is Primus, as well as local Amstel, coming in several variations.
