Burundi: Lake Rwihinda
Burundi has several large lakes that are teaming with wildlife and especially birdlife. We went boat cruising on Lake Rwihinda. In the middle of the lake there is a Bird Island, where you can see huge numbers of egrets, storks, and other water birds. The entire lake is a protected natural reserve which is a real sanctuary for migratory aquatic birds that come to the site by the thousands to reproduce.
