Cameroon: Boating on Lobe River

Lobe River takes you up into the impenetrable (more or less) jungle of the southern Cameroon. It’s a tranquil sail in a small wooden boat propelled by a guy with long pole. Giant trees tower along the way and tropical birds like giant hornbills scream in the green canopy. The waters are still and the air is hot and very humid. You are on your way to see the mysterious pigmy tribes of Bagyeli (next post).
