Canada/AB: Jasper NP – exploring Maligne road

The Maligne Road goes from the town of Jasper to Maligne Lake, traversing spectacular mountain scenery all along the Maligne River. The Medicine Lake is roughly at the half point and is a much photographed attraction. The Maligne Lake at the end of the road is the largest lake in the Canadian Rockies and presents ample opportunities to canoe and boat surrounded by mountains. The Maligne river is fast and twisty, often doing 180 turns leaving out islands and peninsulas of spruce forest .
