Dominica: Roseau

Roseau is the capital of the Caribbean island-nation of Dominica, Roseau has a rich history dating back to the 18th century when it was established by French settlers. The town has endured various changes in colonial rule, including periods under French and British control (many names and streets still carry French names as does the town itself, but driving is in the left and English is spoken by everyone). This historical legacy is reflected in Roseau’s architecture, with a blend of French, British, and Caribbean influences (the latter mostly brings in ultra-vibrant colors).
