Gabon: Loango NP – Beaches

Beaches in Loango National Park are truly spectacular and perhaps some of the best in the world. Sadly, there is a lot of trash on them. There are almost no people or settlements for hundreds of miles along the beach here, so all the trash comes here from the ocean from neighboring Congo and Cameroon as two current collide just offshore and deposits heaps and heaps of everything. Ignoring the trash though – the beaches are stunning – endless north and south and wide, over 200 meter in spots and made up of absolutely pure almost sparkling whitest of the white sand. And not a single person as far as the eye can see, only occasional elephants.
