Grenada: Belmont Estate

Belmont Estate is one of the oldest plantation estates in Grenada, famous for cocoa and nutmeg production. The estate is over 300 years old and sprawled over 400 acres. It was originally established as a sugar plantation during the colonial era when Grenada was under British rule. The estate transitioned to cocoa production in the 1940s, becoming one of the leading cocoa producers in the Caribbean. You can see all the stages of production of nutmeg and cocoa, and even visit a chocolate factory and try some of the best chocolate in the world.
