Jordan: Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo is the biblical site high on the east side of the Jordan Valley at the height of 817 m (2,680 ft) above sea level (keep in mind the Jordan Valley is way below sea level). This is where Moses and his crew came after their long wandering around in the desert and Moses looked across the valley (assuming it wasn’t hazy as it was when I did it) and said “There it is, guys. This is the land I promised you and we were talking about!” On a clear day, both Jericho and Jerusalem are visible. Lucky for Moses, it was clear, otherwise the wandering could have continued.
