Kenya: Lake Baringo – Cruising Around
Lake Baringo is a large Rift Valley lake, but unlike many others – it’s freshwater, being fed by several underground streams and also having a river outlet. It’s in a spectacular setting in Northern Kenya, with many islands dotting the lake. It has 470 species of birds, almost double that there’s in the entire UK, many endemic. Also crocodiles and hippos that you can boat by really really close (like REALLY CLOSE). An early morning boat ride gets the most bird sightings. You stay at a phenomenal lodge right in the middle of the lake with panoramic sunrise and sunset views! © All photos by Rus Margolin.
