Lesotho: Maletsunyane Falls

Maletsunyane Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in Africa – at 192m/630ft, it’s almost double the hight of the more famous Victoria Falls. The water plunges over a basalt gorge in a spectacular drop and into a splash pool beneath. Most overlooks are located on the opposite side of the deep gorge offering panoramas in all direction of stunning alpine scenery, the thundering falls, and alpine flora below your feet. There is a spanking new visitor center here, across the gorge from the waterfalls. There are also massive soaring vultures that can be observed soaring over the falls – cape vultures and bearded volutes.
