Rodrigues: Grande Cavern
Below the surface at the Francois Leguat Reserve lie a large limestone cave known as Grande Caverne. Stalactites and stalagmites abound and the formations are still growing as the water is running through the caves. Rodrigues Island is a giant limestone plateau called Plaine Corail, with several caves well preserved, while several others have collapsed to form steep sided canyons.
