Rwanda: Akagera NP – Exploring Kirara Plain Savanna

In the very northern part of the Akagera National Park there is a vast area of flat savanna – totally looking like Serengeti. Wildlife is galore here – zebras and topi, buffalos, and dozens and dozens of giraffes, and even a singe rhino. Giraffes really stole the show! These are Masai giraffes, distinguishable by their irregularly shaped spots – jagged, leaf-like shapes that extend from the hooves to its head. This is the most common giraffe in East Africa.
