Serbia: Stetti Medieval Tombstnes

Stetti are medieval tombstones scarred around the central Balkans (mostly in the present day Bosnia and border areas of Montenegro and Serbia. They represent traditional Slavic burial traditions dating back to the 12-13th century, before the practice disappeared with the arrival of the Ottomans. Combined, 28 locations with high concentration of stetti are inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage site. We visited the one in western Serbia near the Tara National Park.
