South Georgia: St. Andrew’s Bay – Hiking

Once you land at the beach in St Andrew’s Bay, it’s a couple km of hiking to get the viewpoint of the king penguin colony. The path leads past massive logs of elephant seals, fur seal are attacking and barking at you and chasing you along, and king penguins are everywhere you look. The scenery is also stunning in a clear day – snow-clad sharp peaks of mountains surround the valley on all sides and there are several glaciers terminating with rivers and streams that require crossing.
