Sweden: High Coast Bridge and Hoga Kusten National Park

The northern portion is Sweden along the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia is known as High Coast aka Hoga Kusten. A national park protect a very large expanse of this beautiful land with loads of stunning mountain vistas, craggy outcrops, rugged coastline, and superb views. It’s a hikers paradise here and most of the trails are long and multiday. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we drove the entire expanse of it – north to south. One of the key attractions along the route is the High Coast Bridge aka Högakustenbron. A spectacular site, the bridge is 1,867 m (6,125 ft) long and 180 m (591 ft) high, making it the third longest suspension bridge in Scandinavia (and Norway and Denmark are full bridges), the fourth longest in Europe and 16th longest in the world.
