Ukraine: Starokostiantyniv Castle

Starokostiantyniv Castle is a medieval castle in Khmelnitsky Region of Ukraine built in 1560s by Prince Ostrogski when this part of the world was the Great Dutch of Lithuania. It was one of the main defensive points against Ottoman and Crimean Tatar attacks from the south and had thick defensive walls, five towers, moats and drawbridge – little of this remains by now, except the remains of one tower and the residence building and a small church. The location is very picturesque at the confluence of two rivers.
