The entire road is super scenic with panoramic overlooks pretty much nonstop with distant views of the green and blue mountains peaks and clouds. The parkway is itself a unit of the National Park System in the USA and as such it is the longest park in the world. It is also the most visited national park unit in the USA with millions driving at least portions of it, especially in springtime and also during bright foliage in November. The parkway was built in the 1930s intentionally as a scenic road, with no trucks allowed and its twists and turns specially designed for maximum amount of most scenic overlooks and viewpoints.
