Cuba: Havana – Gran Teatro de La Habana

Gran Teatro de La Habana is perhaps the most magnificent buildings in Havana. It was built in 1914 in baroque revival style in the place of a smaller older theater. The lavishly over-the-top ornate building is adorned with 97 marble sculptures all around the facade and sides, that are supposed to represent charity, education, music and theater. The theater serves as the official stage of the Cuban National Ballet Company. It was completely renovated in 2015.
