Malta: Hagar Qim & Mnajdra Temples

Another UNESCO-listed megalithic temple site is located along the southern coast of the island of Malta – Hagar Qim & Mnajdra Temples. Dating between 3600 BC – 3200 BC, the site was buried under mounds of earth until it was discovered in 1839. While the sites may first appear to be just jumbled rocks, they are arranged in structures and shapes and there are even doorways which were places strategically to capture light rays during equinox.
