USA/CA: Amboy & Route 66
Get your kicks on Route 66! One of the most iconic spots in the historic Route 66 is in the middle of nowhere in California near Amboy. The town itself is a ghost town for several decades and the Ray’s Motel, gas station, and cafe have been inoperable until 2019. They are now being slowly restored and should open again in near future (the gift shop is already open). But even as is – the place is awesome – with endless horizons, Ray’s sign, and Route 66 written in the asphalt of the road. And you can drink a Route 66 root beer (which is quite awful).
