Zimbabwe: Mama Pools NP – Game Drives

The incredible African national parks are nearly totally empty during the pandemic and you can have all the wildlife to yourself – the entire UNESCO World Heritage site of Mana Pools becomes your own private playground. We did three full days of game drives – super early morning before the sun is up till noon and an afternoon one from around 3pm way past the sunset. Elephants galore, cape buffalo, elands (world’s largest antelopes), waterbucks, impala, nyala, kudu, bushbucks, zebras, warthogs, Chakme baboons and vervet monkeys, and many other mammal species (birds will come in a separate post) – it was all absolutely incredible! Oh, and also crocodiles and hippos and monitor lizards walking around…
